This offering is a 1983 Topps Baseball Trading Card, #156, autographed by Billy Martin, then manager of the Oakland Athletics.

B?illy Martin was an American Major League Baseball second baseman and manager who, as well as leading other teams, was five times the manager of the New York Yankees. Known first as a scrappy infielder who made considerable contributions to the championship Yankee teams of the 1950s, he built a reputation as a manager who would initially make bad teams good, and then be fired. Martin managed the Oakland A’s from 1980 to 1982. The A’s earned a division title with an aggressive style of play known as "Billyball", but Martin was fired after the 1982 season. He was rehired by the Yankees, managed them three more times, each time ending in his firing by owner George Steinbrenner. Billy Martin died in an automobile accident on December 25, 1989, and is fondly remembered by many Yankee fans.

This card and autograph are 100% authentic, encapsulated by Beckett Grading Services.
