This baseball shaped brass tray was issued on August 22, 1953 at the NY Yankees Old Timers' Day in memory of Lou Gehrig. It is heavy at 2.3 lbs. and 9” round. It is etched on the surface with "Old Timers Day, Yankee Stadium, Played In The Year Of The 300th Anniversary Of The City Of New York." Towards the top is an engraved portrait of Lou Gehrig titled, "In Memory Of Lou Gehrig, Native New Yorker." At the bottom is an engraved Yankees Top Hat logo and the date, "August 22nd 1953”. Baseball stitching is etched on the surface to replicate a baseball. This is a very rare and unique item as only two are known to have previously come up for sale in recent history.
