This offering consists of a game-used New York Mets batting helmet and pair of batting gloves signed by pitcher Dwight “Doc” Gooden. Doc made his Major League baseball debut in 1984 with the New York Mets and was named National League Rookie of the Year and led the league in strikeouts. He also became, on July 10, 1984,, the youngest player to appear in an All-Star game. The following year he won the Cy Young Award and the Triple Crown. In 1986, Gooden helped the Mets win the World Series. The game used helmet features Doc Gooden’s signature and #16 on the visor. The game used gloves are signed in blue on the white mesh.
