After playing seven seasons for the Brooklyn Dodger, Lavagetto returned to the organization as a coach in the 1950's after following former Oakland Oaks manager Charlie Dressen to Brooklyn when Dressen was hired as manager. When Dressen was refused a 2 year contract in 1953, Cookie resigned from the Dodgers too.

This gold belt buckle can be dated back to Cookie's coacing time with the Dodgers from 1951-53. On the front of the buckle is the Dodgers logo underneath the gold. On the back is a metal clip. It was manufactured by Lee in New York, NY. This buckle is very rare and valuable as it was only given out to players and coaches. The buckle comes with a letter of authenticity from Steiner Auctions/Lavagetto Family.
