1986 New York Mets World Series Championship Ring. This is the gold New York Mets 1986 World Series Championship ring given to John Turner Sargent Sr. former CEO of the Doubleday and Co. publishing house and Mets team minority owner. Sargent provided crucial support to Nelson Doubleday Jr. during his 1986 purchase of the team. The ring has a rounded square face featuring one large diamond set in blue stone and surrounded by 24 smaller diamonds. “World Champions 1986” wraps around the small diamonds. The left side of the ring displays the Commissioners Trophy with the Mets logo above and “116 WINS” and “NEW YORK” in a downward V-shape. The right side shows the Mets 25th Anniversary Logo with “SARGENT” engraved above and a Home Plate below, again “NEW YORK” in a downward V-shape completes the side. Inside the ring is stamped “LGB 10K”. This size 10 ¾ ring was created by Balfour in 10-karat gold exhibiting 95 points’ worth of total diamonds.
