Thurman Munson played 11 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Yankees (1969–1979). A seven-time All-Star, Munson was the fearless captain of the NY Yankees dynasty of the 1970's. Known for his outstanding fielding, he won the Gold Glove Award in three consecutive years (1973–75).

This lot features a Thurman Munson Hillerich & Bradsby S44 Model Bicentennial Game Bat used during the 1976 To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the United States. Bat maker Hillerich & Bradsby marked each bat ordered in 1976 with a special 1776-1976 Liberty Bell design stamped into the barrel between the oval brand and facsimile signature. The bat shows bat rack marks, ball marks, is uncracked and is authenticated by PSA/DNA.
