At one time he held the all-time marks for most games and at-bats, is still the lifetime leader in total bases and RBI, and his batting average over 23 seasons was .305 -indications of the all-around ability of this quiet man from Mobile. The National League MVP in 1957, he appeared in a record 24 All-Star contests with the Braves (Milwaukee and Atlanta) and Brewers. Hank Aaron has hand signed this MLB baseball and added the inscription, "6586 TB" which is his Total bases total for his career.
