It had been 17 years since the Mets won their first World Series title and they were itching for another. Unlike their first appearance when they were the underdogs the Mets entered the 1986 Fall Classic against the Boston Red Sox as the heavy favorites. The series went to seven games thanks to the infamous error made by Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner on Mookie Wilson's grounder. On Oct. 27 1986 the Mets clinched their second title proving they were amazin' once again. This VIP Experience will allow you to meet Ojeda, Darling, Fernandez and get one item signed by each. You will be VIP and will not have to wait in line. It will take place on July 11th at the Steiner Sports store in the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, New York from 6:30-48:00 PM. The proceeds of this sale will benefit VetDogs. VetDogs is a not-for-profit organization founded by the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind and serves the needs of disabled veterans and active duty personnel. Since 1946, the Guide Dog Foundation has provided guide dogs and training at no cost to people who are blind or visually impaired, including veterans.
