1999 was the year that capped off a Century and it was only fitting that the Yankees won the World Series. Sweeping the Atlanta Braves in 4 games the Yankees won their third championship in 4 years to become the team of the Century. Pitching 4.2 innings in 3 games Mariano Rivera saved 2 and won 1 while keeping a perfect 0.00 ERA to take home World Series MVP honors. Following their victory, the Yankee players and coaches were each awarded personal World Series trophies. Presented is an original 1999 New York Yankees World Series Trophy. This trophy originates from one of the Yankees Front Office Members. Of all the various trophies and awards created to honor excellence in the field of sports, perhaps none is more attractive or visually impressive than the Major League Baseball World Series trophy, produced by world renowned jewelers Balfour. The imposing design features twenty-eight gold-colored pennants, bearing the team name of each Major League franchise respectively, displayed around the perimeter of the black wooden base. The interior metal design consists of a silver baseball, set within a gold band, atop which rests a crown. Displayed directly in front of this are the 1999 World Series press pins for the Yankees and the Braves. The gold-colored band affixed around the base reads "World Champions - New York Yankees - 1999" in black lettering. Height: 12 inches. Diameter: 23 inches. This trophy was owned by either a player, coach or executive.
