This H&B C271, bat measures 33 7-8 in. and weighs 29.8 oz. The bat has a small Cracked on the handle and shows heavy use. The cupped end usually reduces bat length by 1-4 inch. There are ball/hit marks on the right, left back and front barrel. There are blue and white ball transfer marks on the right, left, back and front barrel. There are cleat marks on the right, left, back and front barrel. There is heavy pine tar use on the handle. Griffey Jr. signed the front barrel in silver pen with the added inscription, “98 - HR 23”. The bat comes with a Ken Griffey JR. COA signed by Griffey stating he used this bat for HR #23 of the 1998 Season.. The bat exhibits evidence of heavy game-use with atypical Griffey Jr. attributes, which may be accounted for by use from Alex Rodriguez. Alex was a teammate of Griffey in 1998 and if you ever watched Rodriguez bat, he is known to slam the bat into his cleats, which can attribute fo r the cleat marks on the bat. On the knob is PSA/DNA sticker “1B11637”. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA, PSA/DNA and a signed Griffey Jr. COA. According to PSA/DNA Bat expert John Taube, he believes this bat was used by Rodriguez and Griffey during Griffey's record setting 1998 season.
