This Jackie Robinson Professional Model Bat was Game Used by Jackie durning the 1956 Season (His Final Season). The Manufacturer of the bat is Hillerich & Bradsby and the Model Number is C117L (Stamped into the Knob). The Bat is 35 inches in length and weighs 33.9 ounces. It is an ash wood bat with a standard finish. The bat is un-cracked and show evidence of heavy use. There are many ball marks and ball stitch impressions visible on the left barrel. The bat also shows green and red bat rack streaks (from Ebbetts Field and common on Brooklyn Dodgers Game Used Bats)and there is a light coat of pine tar on the handle. The C117L model bat was ordered by Robinson occasionally between 1952 and 1956. This bat in particular has the variation the the center brand, namely the small bend at ten o'clock on the oval, which indicates that this bat was used durning the 1956 season because this variation only appears on Louisville Slugger bats between the years of 1955 and 1957. The C117L model was not ordered by Robinson in 1955. After the 1956 Season Robinson Retired. This Bat is authenticated by Vince Malta and John Taube. A PSA/DNA Full Letter of Authenticity is included. PSA/DNA has graded this bat a GU9.
