Tino Martinez faced a daunting task when he arrived in the Bronx in the 1996 to play first base for the Yankees: He was replacing Yankees legend Don Mattingly. Ever the gamer - Martinez won over the Yankee Stadium faithful with his fiery attitude timely hits and stellar glove. The Bombers won the World Series in 1996 1998 1999 and 2000 all with Martinez manning first base. Martinez departed after the 2001 season but closed out his career with the Yankees by returning to the team in 2005.
Featured in this lot is a very rare and valuable game used bat from Tino, that is not only signed but inscribed "game used" as well. This bat per the inscription was used during the 2001 season. While the signature is a full name signature, some fading does appear.
