1947 was a year that saw Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier and win Rookie of the Year honors on top of that. Going into his second season in 1948 Jackie had set a new standard for the game. The Dodgers finished in 3rd that year despite being 14 games over 500 but saw a Young and upcoming Rookie Catcher by the name of Roy Campanella hit .258 with 9 homeruns and 45 RBIs. This Spalding Official National League Ford C. Frick President baseball is hand signed by 20 members of the 1948 Brooklyn Dodgers. Signatures include Manager Leo Durocher, Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Gil Hodges, Pee Wee Reese, Rex Barney, Hank Behrman, Hugh Casey, Joe Hatten, Paul Minner, Erv Palica, Harry Taylor, Bruce Edwards, Eddie Miksis, Gene Hermanski, Marv Rackley, Pete Reiser, George Shuba, Jake Pitler,and Dick Whitman. The ball is in great shape for its age. The ballis evenly toned throughout and the signatures have some light fading but most still display strong. A PSA/DNA Full Letter of Authenticity is included.
